Rain likely

today

The skies will be partly cloudy with rain or thundershowers likely in some areas on Thursday, according to the India Meteorological Department forecast. On Wednesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 19.6 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 63 per cent. The airport recorded a maximum temperature of 28.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 18.8 degrees Celsius. The recorded humidity was 65 per cent.

Court in

prison

The High Court of Karnataka has permitted the sittings of the Criminal Courts in prison premises. It is only for the third time that the Sittings of Criminal Courts, all the Metropolitan Magistrates, Traffic Court and Special Economics Courts, has been organised. It will take place on Thursday and Friday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to an official press release.

Elected

P. Elevazhagan has been elected president of the Bangalore Tamil Sangam in the elections held on September 26. The following are the other office-bearers of the sangam: K. Subramanian (vice-president), T.G. Damodaran (secretary), and V. Gopinath (treasurer).

Tailoring
