Back Ranbaxy drug gets USFDA nod Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to manufacture and market Clorazepate Dipotassium tablets used to treat anxiety. These formulations are bioequivalent and have the same therapeutic effect of Ovation Pharmaceuticals Inc's Tranxene. The total market sales for Clorazepate Dipotassium tablets are estimated to be $21.8 million. Tranxene is indicated for the management of anxiety disorders or for the short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety. "We look forward to introducing this product to the market within the next 60 days or sooner. We see this molecule as another addition to our ever-growing portfolio of affordable generic products," said Mr Jim Meehan, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc.
