Back Coimbatore DRT facing staff shortage L.N. Revathy
Coimbatore , Oct. 3 THE Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) in Coimbatore has become non-functional, thanks to the lethargy in filling up vacancies. First it was the Presiding Officer, Mr Chandra Parkash, who was called back. But soon after the Presiding Officer of DRT II, Chennai Mr Vijayakumar was given the additional charge. He managed to shunt between Chennai and Coimbatore and even conduct a couple of special sittings. The cases appeared to move. At this juncture, the two recovery officers were called back, leaving just a recovery inspector, who has no adequate powers to conduct recovery proceedings. The recovery proceedings have since come to a standstill, except in such of those cases already fixed.
