CCI to honour Aussies, Umrigar

MUMBAI, OCT. 5. The CCI will present the Honorary Life Membership (HLM) to Australia's Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Adam Gilchrist and its manager, Steve Bernard on November 1. India's former captain Polly Umrigar, too, will be made a HLM.

The last Australian to be awarded the HLM was Ricky Ponting and the last Indian sportsperson was hockey star, Dhanraj Pillay. The Club's Life Membership costs Rs. 12 lakhs (US $ 26,166).

The CCI last played host to a Test match between India and England at the Brabourne Stadium in 1974. — Our Special Correspondent
