GULBARGA, OCT. 5. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, today directed the Health Secretary to send a team of doctors to Galaga village and neighbouring tandas in Deodurga Taluk in Raichur district to provide relief to the people afflicted with malaria. Mr. Singh, who spoke to the Health Secretary over phone after the presspersons brought to his notice about the outbreak of the killer disease, which had claimed 14 lives in the affected areas, also asked the official to study the situation and submit a report to him. Mr. Singh said the Government would take all preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease and the team of doctors would camp in the affected areas. According to reports, the mandatory blood tests conducted on 2,809 people with suspected symptoms of the disease showed that nearly 850 blood samples turned out to be positive to malaria and all of them have been admitted to different hospitals.
