LMPC wins

MADURAI, OCT. 5. Host Latha Mathavan Polytechnic College emerged winner of the Madurai division inter-polytechnic college hockey tournament defeating Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi 1-0 in the final here on Sunday.

The only goal was scored by Vigneshwaran in the 19th minute.

In the semifinals, Latha Mathavan beat Alagappa Polytechnic College, Karaikudi 2-0. Vetrivelmurugan and Arunnathan scored. Arasan Ganesan beat Tamil Nadu Polytechnic College, Madurai 3-0. Manikandan, Vasantharajan and Selvam scored.
