Ayyappan, Susan take titles

PONDICHERRY, OCT. 5 . S. Ayyappan (CSP) and J. Susan Magi (St. Patric) won the men's and women's titles respectively in the 19th State table tennis championship, conducted by UCO Bank Club, here on Sunday.

S. Rajendran, Deputy GM, UCO Bank (Chennai) and V. Gnanasambandam, Dy. Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, gave away the prizes.

Men: S. Ayyappan bt K. Thirumurgan (UCO Bank Club) 11-9, 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 13-11; Women: J. Susan Magi bt Kappa Shreethi (St. Patric) 13-11, 8-11, 14-16, 11-4, 11-9, 11-9; Doubles: S. Balasubramanian/J. Susan Magi bt P. Pradeep/D. Narendar 11-9, 6-11, 11-5, 10-12, 11-9.

Non-medallist: S. Sargurunath (Petit) bt M. Vinodhini (St. Patric) 11-9, 11-5, 6-11, 11-5.
