Back `Benefit from special SSI scheme'

MADURAI: The synthetic gem manufacturing units in Tiruchi district should take advantage of the implementation of a special scheme by the National Small Industries Corporation for the small-scale sector for participation in international trade fairs, the General Manager (in-charge) of the District Industries Centre, Mr S. Kandasamy, has said.

The Centre and the State governments are providing a grant of 50 per cent and 25 per cent, respectively as stall fee for the purpose and the balance would have to be borne by the entrepreneurs, he added while speaking at a joint meeting of the Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (and the BHEL Small Scale Industries Association , at Tiruchi, the sources said.
