Back Silver futures turnover on MCX surpasses TOCOM

THE trading volume of silver futures at the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) surpassed the Tokyo Commodity Exchange's (TOCOM) volume on Tuesday.

MCX recorded a daily volume of 571.49 tonnes valued at Rs 626 crore compared with the daily volume of 263.7 tonnes of silver valued at Rs 276.2 crore on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) the same day, an exchange release claimed.

The bullion volume at MCX registered a total daily turnover of Rs 1,136.99 crore (single side), which is the highest-ever. The total volume includes 7,487 kg of gold valued at Rs 467 crore and 5,71,490 kg of silver valued at Rs 626 crore.

Currently, there's an open interest of 2,200 kg for gold and for silver, 1,57,915 kg. In the bullion market, gold has seen a cumulative physical delivery of 249 kg and silver, 2,190 kg, across all the settlements completed till date.
