Back Mother Dairy launches ultra heat treatment milk in Delhi, NCR

MOTHER Dairy today announced the launch of long-life UHT (ultra heat treatment) milk in the city.

UHT milk undergoes a special process to become completely germ-free. It is then packed in a special, six-layer packaging that preserves the milk and helps it last up to 120 days without refrigeration, the company said in a statement.

It said UHT milk can be consumed straight from the pack, without boiling but once opened, it should be refrigerated. Mother Dairy said that the UHT milk contains no preservatives.

It has initially been launched in the Delhi and National Capital Region in the toned milk variant, which contains three per cent milk fat. It will soon be available in other key markets in the North and East. The 1-litre pack is priced Rs 24.

The company said it decided to launch UHT milk in response to changing consumer needs, which demand much more convenience in buying and storing milk.
