Khurana seeking responsible party position?

JAIPUR, OCT. 31. The former Rajasthan Governor, Madan Lal Khurana, today hinted that he might make an attempt to get a ``responsible position'' in the Bharatiya Janata Party when he arrives in New Delhi tomorrow to join active politics.

``There are still two vacancies in the BJP — that of the vice-president and the general secretary,'' Mr. Khurana told reporters at the Raj Bhavan today before his departure. Mr. Khurana's name figures in the BJP's national executive list announced on Saturday.

Mr. Khurana said he quit after listening to his ``inner voice'' which called upon him to serve the people of Delhi in the difficult moments created by the contentious issue of relocation of industries.

``My first job in Delhi will be to help out the industrialists,'' Mr. Khurana said and added that he had written a letter to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, on September 14 drawing his attention to the plight of 1.25 lakh industrialists and about 15 lakh labourers. The Prime Minister had replied to him on September 28.
