NEW DELHI: Hindustan Copper Ltd, a public sector unit of the Department of Mines, has paid Rs 90.75 crore to the Government Exchequer during 2003-04.

According to an official release, of this, Rs 66.18 crore is excise duty, Rs 9.56 crore royalty and cess, Rs 3.57 crore customs duty, Rs 8.44 crore sales tax and Rs 3 crore towards other charges.

It is estimated that, during 2004-05, the company would pay Rs 84.52 crore to the Government towards these duties.

During 2002-03, it contributed Rs 105.54 crore to the Government Exchequer.
