Back Meet on magnetic resonance in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The city will host the 21st international conference on `Magnetic resonance in biological systems' in January..

The six-day meet, beginning January 16, will evaluate the rapid progress made in basic research in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the last two years. The deliberations will also focus on how MR can be used for the further understanding of critical biological processes. "This will help find solutions to human health problems," the organisers said here in a press note.

The conference will also mark the 60th anniversary of the discovery of nuclear MR. Nobel laureates Mr Richard R. Ernst and Mr Kurt Wuthrich will take part in the inaugural session. The organisers said the conference would bring together several MR experts focused on developing an in-depth overview of the current field status and determining new directions in the subject that would have maximum impact on biological problems and maximise cross-fertilisation of innovative ideas.
