By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, NOV. 12. Ragi Jagan, 25, brother of an ex-convict, Maheswara Chari, committed suicide by consuming some chemical substance when the Lalaguda police party went to his shop in Malkajgiri in connection with a property offence on Thursday.

The police party led by Sub-Inspector, Gopala Naidu, enquired about some property allegedly stolen by his brother. Even as he was being questioned, Jagan reportedly grabbed a glass containing some chemical, gulped it and started shouting for help.

The police rushed him to a local hospital and later to Apollo Hospital, Vikrampuri, where he died while undergoing treatment. The Gopalapuram ACP, Mohd. Tajuddin, said that Jagan, along with Chari, were brought to Lalaguda police station on Wednesday for questioning about a property offence. Jagan was let off the same evening. The police went to his shop again on Thursday seeking some clarifications.
