Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Cherish human values

Sir, — At least hereafter, it will be prudent for high constitutional heads and their ilk to desist from paying obeisance in public to godmen.

They should emulate Jawaharlal Nehru, who only cherished human values.

R. Ramasubramanian,
Coimbatore

Sir, — It is we the people who have placed saints and politicians on a pedestal. They have constantly proved that they do not practise what they preach.

We have to admit that we have erred in some manner, and with a sense of personal contrition realise that we have only ourselves to blame.

C. Gunasingham Chelliah,
Chennai
