RANCHI, NOV. 22. The Jharkhand Government today decided to include different Backward Castes and Other Backward Classes in the Scheduled Castes (SC) category and recommended that a tribal community be included in the Scheduled Tribes category. At a Cabinet meeting today, the Arjun Munda Government passed a resolution on inclusion of certain Backward and Other Backward Classes in the SC category on the basis of a report submitted by the Tribal Research Institute (TIR). The BCs and the OBCs to be included in the SC category were named as Kek, Bagchi, Punai and Jhar . The Cabinet resolved to recommend to the Centre inclusion of Kangra tribes in the ST category. It also approved a proposal for construction of a 85.089 km-long, six-lane ring road at a cost of Rs. 755.26 crores. The road would have nine big bridges, 31 small bridges, 233 culverts and seven flyovers.
