HYDERABAD, NOV. 24. The State Government has cracked the whip on IPS officer, Anjana Sinha, who is in the thick of a controversy after retaining two firearms recovered from a follower of the Telugu Desam Party MLA, Paritala Ravi.

It has transferred her from the post of Deputy Inspector-General, Crime Investigation Department.

She has been asked to await fresh posting and S.A. Sattar, who was transferred as DIG of Karimnagar range, will take her place, according to orders issued on Wednesday by the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda.

The transfer of Ms. Sinha follows an enquiry by the City Police Commissioner, R.P. Singh, and a report submitted to the Government by the Director-General of Police, S.R. Sukumara, based on Mr. Singh's findings.
