By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, NOV. 24. In the wake of the discussions at the United Progressive Alliance coordination committee, the Government today rolled back the decision to raise the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (cooking gas) by Rs. 5 a cylinder every month to compensate for the steep rise in world oil prices.

The Petroleum Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyar, said after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs that all other decisions taken on November 4 remained unchanged. This includes the increase in LPG prices by Rs. 20 a cylinder and diesel by Rs. 2.12 a litre.

The price of petrol was increased by Rs. 2.20 a litre but it was later reduced by Rs. 1.16 a litre on November 15.
