Irrigation Secretary leaves for Tokyo

HYDERABAD, NOV 24. The principal secretary, Irrigation, C.V.S.K. Sarma, left for Tokyo on a two-day trip even as a second notification is expected from the department for the medium packages.

Mr. Sarma will return to the city on Friday. Mr. Sarma would attend a review meeting of the Japan Bank for International Development on K. C. Canal modernisation in Tokyo. The bank had extended an assistance of nearly Rs. 800 crores for the modernisation of KC Canal. The works on the project have almost come to a close.
