DSP's flat burgled

Thieves broke into the flat of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), B.D. Man Mohan, at Krishnapuri Colony in Marredpally and took away gold ornaments weighing 12 tolas during on Wednesday. While the DSP's daughter, Akhila, was sleeping in the hall, his wife, Lavanya, had gone out this morning after locking the flat located on first floor of Sunrise Apartments, the Mahankali ACP, M. Diwakar, said. The building watchman, too, had gone out then. Fingerprints were collected from the scene. Mr. Man Mohan is presently working in Manuguru division of Khammam district.

Jewellery, cash stolen

Robbers decamped with jewellery and silver articles weighing 10.5 tolas and 30 tolas respectively and Rs. 7,000 in cash on Monday night from a house at Devibagh in Nampally. The house owner, P. Kalyani, and her family members were out then. On their return, they found the lock broken and the property stolen, the Nampally police said.

Industrialist threatened?

Two persons were arrested on charge of threatening an industrialist for payment of Rs. 15 lakhs ransom by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner's Task Force (West) team on Wednesday. The duo -- R. Jagadishwar Reddy (28) and Ch. Gopi Narasimha Reddy (27) -- confessed to having been threatening an ayurvedic medicines manufacturer, Ramchander Rao, demanding Rs. 15 lakhs ransom. The duo was picked up following a raid on Urvasi Hotel.

Man electrocuted

An electrician, S. Yadagiri, was electrocuted while repairing some faulty electric wires following a complaint from an occupant of R.K. Residency in Abids. Yadagiri sustained serious burns and was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead, the Abids police said.
