Govt. announces compensation

BANGALORE, DEC. 5. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, on Sunday announced a compensation of Rs. one lakh to the next of the kin of the footballer, Cristiano Junior of Dempo Football Club, who died during a match here on Sunday.

The footballer reportedly collapsed after scoring his second goal against Mohun Bagan at Sri Kanteerava Stadium.

He was taken to HOSMAT hospital although Mallya Hospital lay just a minute away from the stadium.
