Back Syndicate Bank staff for debate on merger of public sector banks Our Bureau
Kochi , Dec. 6 THE Syndicate Bank Staff Association (SBSA) has urged the Union Government to initiate a round table debate on merger of public sector banks with representatives of trades unions, banking industry, depositors association, experts from financial sector, RBI and the public. Merger is not a solution for the present panacea of the banking industry and it would lead to loss of faith, commitment besides making the staff redundant, Mr K.S. Bhat, All-India General Secretary, SBSA, said in a press release here. "Such move will give room for deterioration of customer service". The Government should therefore come out with a White Paper and it should be placed before Parliament, he said.
