Boys focussed: Wright

By Our Sports Reporter

KOLKATA, DEC. 8. The Indian cricket team's departure to Bangladesh was delayed by half an hour because of a technical glitch in the team bus. The Indian coach, John Wright, said the boys were focused and were looking forward to a good tour. "The security is the concern of the governments of the two countries and they are doing their jobs,'' said Wright.

Commenting on the condition of the team, Wright said the players got a few days' rest after a tiring home series, "so they must be fresh and ready for the series.'' When asked about his reaction about giving the new players a chance in the team, Wright avoided a direct reply and said, "we'll field the strongest side.''

The captain, Sourav Ganguly, arrived from his home accompanied by his father, mother and wife. The BCCI joint secretary, Gautam Das Gupta, who was present to see off the players, informed a snag was detected in the gearbox of the bus, which was held back for repairs causing the delay.
