Amar in both finals

BANGALORE, DEC.10 V. Amar entered both the men's singles and the junior boys singles finals of the east Cultural Association's state ranking badminton championship here on Friday.

In the men's singles semifinals, Shivaprakash defeated Shashank Achar 15-11,15-12 and V.Amar beat J.R.Srinath15-7, 15-7.

In the boys' under-19 singles semifinals, Amar beat Shashank Achar 15-4,15-11 and he will meet M.D. Anup Kiran in the final.

The results (semifinals):

Men's singles: Shivprakash bt Shashank Achar 15-11,15-12; V. Amar bt J. R. Srinath 15-7,15-7.

Boys under-19 singles: V. Amar bt Shashank Achar 15-4,15-11; M. D. Anup Kiran bt Arun Pemmaiah 15-8,15-8.

Veteran's singles: Vinay Siddaraj bt Allen John 15-3,15-5; Jayaram Pai bt Arun Poovaiah 13-15, 4-1 ( retd).
