Telugu Desam ridicules campaign on projects

HYDERABAD, DEC. 13. The Telugu Desam has criticised the campaign of the Youth Congress to collect one crore signatures in support of irrigation projects when the Assembly session is on and the debate on the subject is incomplete.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, the TDP MLAs -- N. Amarnath Reddy, S. Maruthi, D. Umamaheswara Rao and Jogulu -- said the campaign gave an impression that the Congress assumed the role of the Opposition while being in power.

Congress hits back

In a separate statement, the Congress Legislature Party members -- T. Venkat Rao, G. Babji and P. Viswaroop -- said the TDP never had any respect for democratic processes. Their remarks against the campaign were reflective of their "dictatorial tendencies."
