Back New director for National Institute of Nutrition

DR BHATTIPROLU Sivakumar, has been appointed as the Director of the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), one of the biggest institutes under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

He will also head the Food and Drug Toxicology Research Centre, National Centre for Laboratory Animal Sciences and the National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau, the three ICMR organisations located in the NIN campus.

A biochemist, Dr Sivakumar has made significant contributions in Vitamin A and iron nutrition as well as studies on wheat flour fortification and iron and iodine fortified salt, according to a press release from the NIN today.
