Back Japanese power company keen on investing in AP

JAPANESE company Marubeni has expressed interest in investing in power sector in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Yasukuni Enok, Ambassador of Japan, requested the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to consider the proposal from the Japanese company in this regard.

Responding to Mr Enok's proposal, Dr Reddy said the State would certainly consider the proposal provided it supplied power at affordable prices.

Mr Enok met the Chief Minister at the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

The Japanese Ambassador said both his Government and Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) would continue to help Andhra Pradesh in the power sector and other areas, a press release from the Government said.
