Two bills introduced

HYDERABAD, DEC. 17. Two Bills were introduced towards the end of the winter session.

The first Bill seeks to amend four existing municipal Acts to empower the Government to specify the number of wards in municipal corporations for election purpose under delimitation as per the 2001 Census.

The second Bill, introduced by the Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy, on behalf of the Chief Minister, was for amending the State Excise Act, 1968, for enhancing the compounding fees to Rs. 1 lakh from the present Rs. 10,000 in case of grave excise offences.
