Lok Satta for Council revival with changes

ELURU, DEC. 19. Lok Satta has favoured revival of the Legislative Council with the necessary changes for political empowerment of Panchayat Raj institutions.

``It will be of no use to any section if the Council is revived in its present form'', the Lok Satta State campaign coordinator, D.V.S. Varma, told The Hindu here on Sunday.

He underscored the need for exclusion of members of the State Legislative Assembly from the list of voters meant for election of the Legislative Council members so that the Council would not become redundant.
