Stove explosion kills woman

BANGALORE, DEC. 19. A woman was burnt to death and her husband sustained burns when a kerosene stove exploded at a house in Bandepalya in Madivala Police Station limits on Sunday night.

The police said Selvi (38) was pumping the stove when it exploded at 10.30 p.m. She was engulfed in flames. She died on the spot.

Her husband, Ramamurthy, a construction worker, whotried to rescue her, sustained burns.

He has been admitted to Victoria Hospital.

The body of Selvi has been kept in the hospital's mortuary. The couple have two children, who live in Tamil Nadu, the police said.

Man murdered

A 52-year-old man was murdered on Saturday allegedly over a property dispute at Begur in Hebbugodi Police Station limits.

The police said Seenappa Reddy, a former employee of NGEF, was walking on a street near his house when three persons allegedly stabbed him to death.

The police suspect the involvement of his relatives.
