Woman falls prey to attention diversion gang

HYDERABAD, DEC. 19. A day after two persons duped a woman of her gold jewellery at Hyderguda, three miscreants, posing as policemen, walked away with 20 tola gold jewellery by diverting the attention of an elderly woman from Chennai, M.K. Sita, under the Sanjeevareddy Nagar police on Saturday.

According to the police, Sita was walking towards Motinagar when three persons stopped her. They introduced themselves as policemen and told her that chain snatchings were on the rise and offered to `wrap' her gold ornaments in a packet.

An unsuspecting Sita handed over the valuables to them. Later, she discovered that the trio duped her.
