Back SumTotal to expand India operations

SUMTOTAL Systems, the Nasdaq-listed learning and business performance technology company, has announced plans to expand its India centre based in Hyderabad.

This development centre would see an investment of about Rs 4 crore in infrastructure and Rs 22 crore in other operating expenses during 2005.

Addressing a press conference here to announce the launch of SumTotal Enterprise Suite 7.0 here on Tuesday, the senior Vice-President, International Operations, Mr Sudheer Koneru, said that the company had successfully completed the merger of Quick2Learn and Docent, to become the largest enterprise learning management services provider, which is followed by Saba, and other enterprise solutions providers.

"We have also integrated development teams spread across multiple locations. This would mean expanding product development work, related R&D and operations support here. The team will grow from about 170 people to 250 by next year and we are exploring the possibility of tapping the domestic market," he said.
