PNB's loan mela

KOZHIKODE: Sanction letters for loans under various schemes amounting to Rs. 2.32 crores were handed over to 85 beneficiaries at a retail lending mela and customer meet organised on Friday at Malappuram by Punjab National Bank (PNB). It was also announced by the Regional Manager, B. K. Jayaprakasam, who presided that the bank would open branches at Chelari and Parappanangadi in Malappuram district shortly. The RM said his bank was in the process of implementing centralised banking solutions (CBS) on a war footing. More than 700 branches had been already networked. The networking would extend to 1,500 branches by this year-end. VS Iyer, Senior Manager, Perinthalmanna, and G. Kishore, Manager, Malappuram, also spoke.
