Probe against AU V-C begins today

VISAKHAPATNAM, DEC. 28. The Justice Vaman Rao Committee will commence its inquiry into the allegations against the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, Y.C. Simhadri, at the Collectorate here on Wednesday.

The single-man committee of the retired High Court Judge was constituted by the State Government following representations received from the Joint Action Committee for Protection of AU, which was on agitation for more than 250 days, MLAs, student organisations like SFI, NSUI, AISF and ABVP, trade unions like CITU and AITUC, and other organisations and individuals.
