Congress governments give Rs. 25 crores

NEW DELHI, DEC. 28. The Congress today said that the State Governments ruled by it had contributed Rs. 25 crores towards relief for the tsunami victims, and urged all its State units to contribute generously.

The party chief spokesperson, Girja Vyas said all its units had been asked to contribute foodgrains, clothes, medicines, torches and candles on a war footing so that it could be made available to those affected by the tsunami.

The Punjab Government had sent in Rs. 10 crores, Karnataka Rs. 5.5. crores, Maharasthra Rs. 5 crores, Delhi Rs. 2 crores, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh Rs. 1 crore each and Assam Rs. 25 lakhs.
