Paritala stages dharna after police stop convoy

ANANTAPUR, JAN. 3. The TDP legislator from Penukonda, Paritala Ravindra, today staged a dharna on the NH-7 near Somandepalli, protesting against denial of permission to his convoy of vehicles by the police. Traffic was disrupted for about an hour due to the protest.

According to information, the legislator along with his followers was going round Somandepalli mandal in a convoy of about 10 vehicles. The filing of nomination for byelection of Somandepalli ZPTC commenced today. The TDP is yet to decide its candidate for the bypoll.
