Back IEI offers free technical aid

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State centre of the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) has offered free technical services for rebuilding the tsunami-hit areas and rehabilitating the affected population.

IEI will make available the services of expert technical professional from the State and the various Local Centres, Mr N. Jayachandran, Chairman, and Mr N. Rajkumar, Honorary Secretary, informed the Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, during a meeting here. The State Centre has four local centres at Kochi, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kozhikode. All these centres are geared to provide free technical support to the rebuilding and rehabilitation programmes.

IEI, the largest professional body in India, has over five lakh members spread over the entire country.
