Back Essay contest on blood donation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of steps to promote voluntary donation of blood, surgicals major Terumo Penpol is planning to organise an essay competition (either in Malayalam or English) for college students on `Blood, blood everywhere but not a drop to donate'.

The first prize-winning entry will be awarded Rs 2,000 in cash, runner-up Rs 1,000 and the second runner-up Rs 500, the Terumo Penpol spokeswoman said here. Five consolation prizes of Rs 200 will be given away.

Those who wish to participate may send in the essay running to not more than two pages, with an attestation letter from the head of the institution, to the Public Relations Officer, Terumo Penpol, Sasthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram (telephone no: 0471-2725357 or 98474 22400), on or before January 31.
