Back Stamp papers destroyed Our Bureau
VISAKHAPATNAM: In adherence with a Government Order, the officials at the sub-registrar's office at Akkayyapalem here on Friday burntnon-judicial stamp papers worth Rs. 11,03,73,500. Mr Narayana Rao, Sub-Registrar, said the Government had issued the GO in November 2004, instructing the officials in the State to burn all non-judicial stamp papers above the denomination of Rs 500 in a phased manner. The step, obviously, was taken in the wake of the Telgi scam to discourage duplication.
