Kakinada plans dustbin-free sanitation drive

KAKINADA, JAN. 13. The Port town will shortly become dustbin-free following the decision of the civic authorities to introduce the sanitation drive on the lines of Suryapet.

The Collector, K. S. Jawahar Reddy, soon after assuming charge as Special Officer of the civic body has deputed a team of 35 members headed by the Municipal Health Officer, Kolli Srikaruna Murthy, on a study tour of Suryapet Municipality for the purpose of adopting the same practice here.

The team includes a sanitary Inspector, a sanitary maistry from each division besides four workers' union leaders. The team was very much impressed by the way the Commissioner, Khader Saheb, could bring out a sea change in the administration and make Suryapet a role model in all aspects particularly in sanitation.
