GUNTUR, JAN. 13. The Guntur police on Thursday busted a gang engaged in manufacturing fake insecticide `Monoprotophos', a popular brand, and selling it all over the State for the past several years. The police arrested two persons on charge of being involved in the manufacture and sale of the insecticide, while two others were absconding. A company engaged in manufacturing plastic bottles in Tenali was also allegedly involved in the racket, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, M. Ravindranath Babu, said. The arrested were Perumalla Subba Rao of Rentachintala in the district and Puttugunta Jayagopal, owner of the company, while Janjanam Uday Shankar of Mangalagiri and one Raghunadha Reddy, were absconding.
