Back Tsunami: Japan offers assistance in reconstruction

JAPAN has offered all possible assistance in the reconstruction work being currently taken by the Union Governmentin areas affected by the recent tsunami.

A high-level delegation led by the Japanese Minister for Economic, Fiscal Policy and for Privatisation,Mr Heizo Takenaka, conveyed this today when he met the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, here.

Both the leaders exchanged views on the state of development in the two countries as well as prospects of furthering bilateral cooperation.
