Congress denies charges

CUDDAPAH, JAN. 13. Congress leaders have said the police booked cases against the TDP State secretary, S.V. Satish Kumar Reddy, for allegedly encouraging encroachment of 1.74 acres of the Zilla Parishad land in Vempalle town.

The ZP Chairman, K. Suresh Babu, and the DCC president, Shaik Hussain, refuted the TDP charges of vindictiveness at a press conference here on Thursday. They denied the TDP leaders' charges against the Congress on the recent gunning down of a TDP leader, C. Veeranjaneyulu, and the case booked against Mr. Satish Kumar Reddy.

Mr. Satish Reddy's followers encroached upon the ZP land, despite a court directive to re-allot the land to traders, whose shops were demolished recently, they alleged.
