BVB triumphs

HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School (Jubilee Hills) and St. Andrews school (Bowenpally) won the boys and girls titles respectively in the Rev. Fr. Devasia trophy inter-school chess tournament, which concluded at St. Andrews HS, Bowenpally on Thursday.

The results:

Boys: Team championship: 1. BVB PS; 2. DAV PS. Board prizes (individual): Maniram (DAV); Joel Melvin (DAV); G.S.K. Akhilesh (BVB) and Rizul (BVB).

Girls team championship: 1. St. Andrews HS; 2. DAV PS, Kukatpally. Board prizes: Soundaram, S. Haritha and Y. Geethiaka (all DAV) and T. Snehasri (St. Andrews).
