Back Chidambaram to attend G-7 meet

THE Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, is to represent India at a conference in London early next month in which finance ministers of G-7 nations are expected to participate.

"I have been invited by the UK Chancellor (of the exchequer), Mr Gordon Brown, to London to participate in a conference on February 4 in which G-7 Finance Ministers are attending. I have accepted the invitation," Mr Chidamabaram told presspersons here on the sidelines of a conference on regulatory framework for micro-finance institutions.

He said that China has also been invited to attend the conference.
