Man relieved of gold rings, chain

A private firm employee, B. Srikanth, 38, who fell unconscious after consuming liquor with an unidentified person at a bar in Ramgopalpet, was relieved of two gold rings and a chain, all worth Rs. 15,000, on Thursday.

A resident of Isamiabazar, the victim was at a bar in Kachiguda when an unidentified person befriended him.

Later, the stranger took him to the bar at Ramgopalpet where both consumed liquor. When Srikanth gained consciousness, he found himself lying on the pavement near the bar, according to the police.

Ragging charge

A criminal case was registered against three students of Osmania University engineering college on the charge of ragging and attacking a first year student, M. Pavan Kumar Reddy, 19, on Thursday on the university hostel premises.

Ends life

An employee of Uco Bank, Kothi branch, Aravind, 44, allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Thursday night in his house at Anandbagh under the Malkajgiri police station area. Reasons for his suicide were not yet known.

Purse stolen

A retired Government employee Bheemashankaram's wife lost gold ornaments weighing eight tolas when miscreants stole her purse on Thursday.

A resident of Vanasthalipuram, Bheemashankaram and his wife boarded a seven-seater auto-rickshaw at Ramanthapur.

They got down at Amberpet, boarded an autorickshaw and went to Dilsukhnagar where she found her purse missing, according to the Malakpet police.

Road mishap

A 35-year-old man, Vishwanath, died on the spot on Friday when a lorry hit the motorcycle he was riding at L.B. Nagar ring road.

The victim was a resident of Vanasthalipuram, the police said.
