ADEA Solutions, which acquired NetKraft last year, plans to hire about 600 people in the current year for expanding the operations of its Indian subsidiary, Adea International Pvt Ltd. The company now has some 400 people split between its development centres in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The company plans to add about 200 engineers in the telecom domain, some 300 in retail and around 100 people for its healthcare solutions practice, said Mr Anand Sudarshan, President, Adea International.

"The jobs being created in India are new and are not at the cost of anyone else in the US," Mr Sudarshan said. Recently, Adea has set up a new facility in Bangalore, which can accommodate some 700 people. The lab would work on developing new generation telecom applications in voice, OSS and BSS space and in RFID (radio frequency identity tag), he added.

Meanwhile, the Adea Solutions Inc is now in talks with three of its telecom clients to move work offshore, Mr Sudarshan said. Adea International is also considering outsourcing development work to some Indian vendors.
