Back KPCB plea on biomedical waste

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KPCB) has asked all hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, dispensaries and blood banks in the State to submit before it annual reports on biomedical waste generated by them.

These institutions have been told to turn in the reports mandated by the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules of 1998 before the Board latest by Monday, an official spokesman said here.

The stipulated form in which the report has to be prepared has been made available at all offices of the Board, he added.
