THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Finance Minister, Mr Vakkom Purushothaman, will present the State Budget on Friday.

This will be a full Budget given the fact that the value-added tax (VAT) regime comes into being from April 1.

The Budget session formally got under way with the Governor's address on January 27. The three-day general discussion on the Budget will be held from Monday next to Wednesday.

The House will break for a recess from February 10 to 28 to enable the subject committees to scrutinise the demands. It will reconvene on March 1. The discussion and voting on the demands for grants in the budget will begin on March 3 and will continue till March 29. The Appropriation Bill relating to the Budget will be passed on March 30. The session will conclude on April 6.
