Back `Delay VAT implementation' Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samiti, a body of traders and small retailers, has appealed to the State Government to delay the implementation of value added tax (VAT). Addressing a press conference in the city on Thursday, the organisation's office bearers including its General Secretary, Mr P.K. Girish, said the implementation of VAT will have an adverse impact on the livelihood of small traders across the State. As part of its agitation against the proposed introduction of VAT, the organisation will stage a march to the State secretariat on February 9, they added.
